Hi, Simone and Katie would like to welcome you to Salon Social.
Simone has been in the hair industry since 2003. She has focused her energy on building her self up as a master stylist by traveling to shows and class throughout North America and Europe. Always making sure she is up on the latest trends and techniques.
Katie has been in the hair industry since 2002. Over the past 10 years she has traveled north America and Europe educating for Revlon Professional, teaching classes and working on stage as a Master Stylist. She has worked at shows and scene the industry in all parts of the world which kept her up to date with what’s new in the industry.
When looking for a place to setup Salon Social we were looking for a community that we could grow in and become a vital part of its culture. We wanted the neighbourhood to be a fun, lively place that our clients could feel comfortable. We fell in love with Bonnie Doon!
Salon Social is a boutique chair rental salon delivering high quality service and high end products. We offer a pampering, luxury, relaxing experience that will re-energize you so you are your best inside and out.

KATIE GRASDAL
Never in a million years would I have thought I would own a salon. It has been one of my greatest adventures. Education is one of the reasons I love this job. It is ever changing and always keeps me on my toes. I have spent over 10 years traveling north America and even Europe, as an educator and as the student. Working on photo shoots pushes my creativity and keeps me engaged with the every changing trends. In the salon I love working on color, color corrections, barbering, up styling, and some may call me a foil wizard. Lots of foils, a few foils, Balayage you name it. Now owning a salon, I enjoy being home and building this amazing place we call Salon Social. It is my hope every client that walks through our door feels like they are home. We work hard to create a culture that feels warm and friendly. The pride I feel in our growing team is unexplainable. We have come so far since 2018. Growing into the skincare industry has been so interesting. Adding Micro-Current to the list of serves is super exciting. Hello and welcome to our space! I have dedicated the last 22 years of my life to the beauty industry, turning my passion for hair into a fulfilling career. Throughout this incredible journey, I have had the privilege of training under talented stylists and mentors, competing in prestigious competitions, and even working on photo shoots and runway hair.
I am committed to sharing my knowledge and supporting others in their pursuit of excellence in this field. I pride myself on being creative and enjoy discovering styles and colors that resonate with each individual’s personality. Whether it’s cutting fine, thick, wavy hair (types 2A-2C) or embracing the beauty of very curly hair (types 3A-4A), I am continuously learning and evolving, particularly with textures ranging from 4A to 4C.
My expertise extends to color correction, vivid fashion colors, and balayage, allowing me to tailor each cut and color to the unique needs of my clients. The beauty industry has granted me the opportunity to travel the world and stay updated on the latest trends and techniques.
I am honored to have been recognized as a finalist for the Contessa Awards in 2016, ranked among the top 3 in Canada for Style Masters 2016, and a finalist for Alberta Hair Stylist in 2019. These achievements are a testament to my hard work and dedication.
I am passionate about creating not just great hair, but also a unique and enjoyable experience for my clients.

Hi, I am Mabel. Don’t be upset if I completely ignore you when you come in. I see a lot of people in a day, Which I secretly love but I like to play hard to get. I will probably just be sleeping or chewing my bone. I love it when kids come in or if your jacket smells like other dogs and treats. Just a heads up, hang up our purse. I do like to see if there is anything in there for me. Can’t wait to see you all soon!
